Our neighbourhood

National Park Village is the northern gateway to Tongariro National Park and connects with transport operators to the Whanganui River too.

At 825 metres above sea level, National Park Village is a North Island Highlands tourism destination. Access to Tongariro Alpine Crossing, Tongariro National Park Walks, Chateau Tongariro Hotel, Whakapapa & Turoa Ski Areas and the numerous mountain bike trails is all within minutes and there are transport service operators that provide door to door services.

National Park Village has all the conveniences you require. Good food, conveniences, petrol and post office.

For  activities, try the new mini-putt on the corner of State Highway 4 and Findlay Street for a bit of off mountain fun, do some wall climbing at the National Park Backpackers, or hire a mountain bike and check out the tracks that depart from National Park Village.

National Park is really famous for the photo opportunites of the three volcanic mountains, when the sun sets. When you capture those magic shots, you realise that it's been a really awesome day!

By night, National Park Village is cosy, and quaint. Owner operators share stories and there's plenty of roaring fires on and red wine poured around this Village.
